Making Sense of Life

Life is not about pleasure. It is not about riches. It is not about winning or losing.

It is not about being served, but serving. It is not about your earthly position, but your hope of a better place. This article may be published if the resource box is unaltered.Many are in a daze about life.

They don't have a clue what it is about. There are so many ideas floating around that it is difficult to know which one to believe. Some can't figure out what they are supposed to do. Time keeps ticking away toward death and it makes you wonder what the point of life is.Some believe there is no right or wrong but different opinions. They claim there no standards.

You can live the way you want to. There so many beliefs about religion that it makes your head spin. There are many denominations and they all teach something different. All Christians, however, rely on Jesus to watch over and save them. There are many occupations requiring different levels of skill. How do you figure where you fit?.

Everyone has God given abilities and it is up to us to develop and use them. Our strengths and weaknesses help us narrow down what occupation we go into and what we do for God in his kingdom. We are to examine our physical and mental assets, determine what our passion is and train for it.Answering every question about life is beyond the scope of this article, but the one that created life has all the answers. You can learn about the Creator in the Bible. It was inspired by God himself.

His book contains everything that pertains to life and godliness (1PE 1:3).The Creator determined the times set for each of us and where we would live (Acts 17:21). We are told in verse 28 of that chapter that it is in him that we live and move and have our being. We all have a purpose. It is to do the good works God created for us (Ephesians 2:10).

We are to do what we have ability and passion for.The ideas that there are no standards of right and wrong came straight from Satan. He wants everyone to be lost, so he spread the rumor that you can live any way you want to. We have standards of weights, measurement's, medical methods, technology, and many other things of life. There is also truth about conduct in the manner of life and religion. It is found in the Bible.

Jesus said that his Father's word is truth (John 17:17). The Bible is from God and it is truth.Life can be difficult to understand. It is not fair. Some are born with many talents and good health.

Others struggle to exist. Some are great athletes. Others can't even walk. Some are rich; some are starving.Solomon said that life is meaningless.

He was describing unbelievers' view of life. When you leave God out of the picture, life makes no sense at all. Toward the end of the book of Ecclesiastes he spoke from the insight of believers.

He advised, "Here is the conclusion of the matter. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man" (ECC 12:13).The way to make sense of life is to realize that it is not about us. It is about God. He created life and made us part of it.

Do not be overly concerned about your situation in life. This world is only temporary. We are here to prepare for a better place with God. Make the best of what you have. That is all anyone can do.

God is the great equalizer. He does not judge according to how rich or poor, talented or disabled, but he is concerned about the heart. It not the unit in your chest that pumps blood, he examines, but the part of your mind that praises him and reaches out to other people.Put your trust in Jesus.

He will provide your necessities and give you a home in heaven. We can face life with confidence because our God has promised to work out every thing for good if we love and serve him (RO 8:28). Because of him, life has everlasting meaning.
