Free Healthcare for Those Incarcerated in Prison

Is it fair for the taxpayer to pay healthcare costs of those in prison? Some liberals say it is and that if we did not it would be considered cruel and unusual? This very subject came up recently in an online think tank and one of the think tankers stated;."As far as healthcare, I understand your point, but is that civilized at all? Is human dignity and civilized society only available to or reserved for those we like?".Health care is NOT a responsibility of the government. Responsibility for one's health is that person's responsibility.

If someone is in jail from drug use, abuse and crime and needs a new heart valve, why should the taxpayer pay for this? It should not be our burden. The think tanker continued and asked:."What happens if you suddenly find yourself in the group that is disliked? Might you decide that maybe that's not quite fair or humane?".I already am.

I am a former boy scout. I am an entrepreneur. I am a thinker. It is not politically correct to be a perfect boy scout.

Entrepreneurs are attacked and over regulated because people just hate them and do not feel they deserve what they work for. And well thinkers have been crucified throughout time. I'll take care of myself; I would rather chose my destiny than have the government decide what they like or do not like based on the latest polls and political wind trying to save face in the middle of the mass media incited hysteria of the brain dead masses.Should the criminal prisoner be allowed free health care when 50% of all Americans do not have it? Should the taxpayer have to pay for this? Is it right for us to foot the bill for inmate prescription drug addictions, a pass to see a female nurse or some expensive operation which would bankrupt a normal law abiding citizen with a large deductible and certain healthcare plan stipulations? Consider all this in 2006.
